‘S1′ by Thibaut Sld is a a single meter long interactive pendant light that is conscious of human activity nearby.
An oblong ring composed of a polyurethane shell, a PMMA diffuser, a dimmable led strip and proximity sensors, two ceiling mounted winches manage the elevation of every single end.

The hanging power cable uses jack connectors.

“Aware of the human activity in its surroundings, S1 can adapt itself.” says the designer. “Its level can be raised to get a global lighting or lowered to concentrate the beam. Combining a lot of units also allows to produce preprogrammed dynamic patterns.”
